Terms of Service

Effective as of May 12, 2026 · Version 2.0

1. NATURE OF THE SERVICE

Tesseum is an AI-assisted legal research platform. Its AI engines — Magnus (multi-jurisdictional research), Synopsis (single-law deep reading), Praetor (citation-verified drafting), Iudicium (jurisprudence search), Atlas (corpus mapping), Corpus (statute browser) and Apolo (article-level Q&A) — identify relevant articles in verified legislative corpora and generate analytical outputs grounded in those articles.

Tesseum does not constitute legal advice, does not establish an attorney-client relationship, and does not replace the independent professional judgment of a qualified attorney. All outputs generated by Tesseum's AI engines are informational and advisory in nature.

2. PERMITTED USERS

The service is intended for:

Users must be 18 years of age or older. By registering, you accept these terms in full.

3. SUBSCRIPTION TIERS

Tesseum operates a freemium model published at tesseum.com/pricing:

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. EU consumers may exercise their statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU unless they have begun using paid features (in which case the right is waived per Art. 16(m)).

4. SERVICE LIMITATIONS

Tesseum does not guarantee:

The legislative corpus is updated periodically. Current legislation must be verified through the corresponding official sources. Praetor's citation-verification layer reduces but does not eliminate the risk of hallucinated references — every output must be reviewed by a qualified attorney before use in any legal proceeding.

5. ACCEPTABLE USE

Users agree not to use Tesseum for:

Detailed acceptable-use rules are published at tesseum.com/acceptable.

6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The system architecture, AI engine prompts, analytical methodology, citation-verification pipeline, and platform design are the exclusive property of Tesseum. Legislative texts belong to their respective issuing bodies and are used for research and public information purposes under fair-dealing principles.

7. PRIVACY AND DATA

Tesseum processes user data in accordance with its Privacy Policy. Documents uploaded for analysis are automatically anonymized before processing. Tesseum does not store personally identifiable data from third-party documents. Customers requiring a signed Data Processing Agreement (GDPR Art. 28) may access the standard DPA at tesseum.com/dpa.

8. PAYMENT TERMS

Subscription fees are charged in advance through Stripe. Failed payments will result in temporary suspension of paid features after a 7-day grace period; the account remains active at the Free tier. Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods except where required by local consumer-protection law.

9. MODIFICATIONS

Tesseum reserves the right to modify these terms with 15 calendar days' prior notice to registered users by email. Continued use of the service after the notice period implies acceptance of the updated terms. Users who do not agree may cancel their subscription without penalty before the changes take effect.

10. JURISDICTION

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic for European users and by the laws of the United Mexican States for users in Mexico. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of Prague, Czech Republic, or Mexico City, Mexico, as applicable based on the user's domicile. EU consumers retain their right to bring proceedings in the courts of their habitual residence under Regulation (EU) 1215/2012.
